Make Your Tennessee Vacation a Breathtaking Adventure
My Tennessee vacation experience did something to
me. All I know is that it was breathtaking (to say the least).
If you live in any of those modern cities with tall buildings that
define your landscape, you know how you have to bend over backwards
(literally) to see the sky. Well how about looking down on the city from
way up high?
No. Not from an airplane... from the mountaintop when you take your next
Tennessee vacation. You will surely like the view anywhere from Lookout
Mountain in Tennessee.
There
are lots of places the whole family will enjoy in Chattanooga, TN alone.
-
See seven states from the top of Lookout Mountain.
-
Visit Ruby Falls on Lookout Mountain
-
Visit historic sites,
-
Give yourself and the kids a thrill at the Tennessee Aquarium
-
Take in one of the 4-D movies at the I-Max Theatre downtown, or
-
Take the little ones to the Learning Adventure Center.
There are many places you can call base while on you Tennessee
vacation, but make sure you book early - unless you want to create an
adventure of driving around the whole city
looking for accommodation, like I
did.
NOTE: Someone familiar with Chattanooga, Tennessee may say
why haven't I mentioned the Incline Train that takes you to the top of
Lookout Mountain? Well, you guess I am terribly acrophobic - I didn't
make that trip, but I took pictures to share with you. If you don't
like to be hauled up a steep slope until cars look like the size of your
kid's toys, then drive your car up the mountain instead. That's what I
did. I felt much better steering my way at 30 - 35 mph to the top.
There
are lots of attractions in Tennessee. Go west from Chattanooga, crossing
into the Central Time Zone to Nashville. There you can embalm yourself
in country music. Nashville home to country music - your bound to hear
Dolly's music playing somewhere. If you get as far as Memphis, you could
be in for a surprise. Go see Elvis. At least if you miss him, you can't
miss his big tourist attraction at Graceland. Thousands of visitors from
all over the world visit Graceland every year. I have found the
mountains of Tennessee to be really beautiful. When next you think of
breaking from your routine, think of a Tennessee vacation across the
State. It's a nice drive - took me about 5 hours from Memphis to
Chattanooga. But you may want to stop and take in the scenery. You'll
hardly want to miss anything on your vacation in Tennessee.
