Digital Camera - Pictures Worth Much More Than a Thousand Words
This is not a digital camera review of several
top brands. I have been using the Canon Powershot A80 for some time now. I
will only swear by a Canon...
Well, maybe the Minolta DiMAGE S414 also - but my
sister stole that one from me before I really got used to it.
A Digital Camera Captures the Moment
You probably know the saying, "a picture is worth
a thousand words". Just account for inflation, and you'll see that such a
statement is outdated in our digital age.
It's no joke, though - I must have my
digital camera on my vacation. Just look at one of your pictures or a
family picture taken about 5 years ago!
Digital cameras are one of the best ways to
capture the moment and preserve the fun and joy for a very long
time.
We all love photographs of friends, loved ones,
and scenes from important events such as a vacation trip. That's an
important part of my life.
Canon Digital Camera - Most Popular Brand
All the comparative reviews I have been
reading make me more convinced that this (Canon Powershot) is one of the most
versatile little cameras I have ever used.
They are quite neat to carry around. Fits nicely
in your hand bag or pouch, or pocket. Just snap it out whenever a picturesque moment
arises.
But I must tell you about one of the nicest
features of the Canon Powershot digital cameras...
Canon Powershot Swivel Display
Few cameras allow you to take a picture of
yourself so comfortably as my Canon Powershot A80. (Others in the "A"
series do the same thing.)
I remember trying to take my picture with my
Canon AE-1 and a mirror in my dorm room when I was in college. If you use
a flash it never comes out right.
Come to think of it, I have been using Canon
cameras for...
...ahhh, let's say a very long time.
Use the Canon powershot with swivel display. Just
twist the 1½" LCD screen to point to the front of the camera. When you face
the camera you can see your image preview, so you can center (or position)
the image properly.
I use this same trick to take candid shots
by pointing the camera lens behind me. With my hand slightly covering the
display, they think I am just examining my camera...
Then I click! Bingo - a candid shot. Taking
pictures with the Canon Powershot series camera is really fun.
Small Size, Lots of MegaPixels
My Canon AE-1 is ready for the antique show now.
It's a digital "dinosaur" of sorts. Harder to carry around. Plus, film
processing costs more.
My Canon Powershot A80 is small enough to fit in
my Jeans pants pocket. It won't be too comfortable if you are wearing very
tight jeans though.
Still this 4.0 Megapixel camera is small enough
to be carried around on a hike, a to the park with the children, and may
not be too noticeable.
The convenience of using a flash card or USB
cable to transfer pictures is great. Plus, I can instantly delete any
picture I don't like.
I've passed through airport security check points
with my digital camera. No hassle, no worry about X-ray machines damaging
photographs I took while on my trip.
So much convenience with a digital camera... so
much fun. But just as I began to get comfortable with making all sorts of
multimedia displays with my digital photographs, I learned something else.
Wow!
Is The ExSlim That Hot?
My friend told me about the Casio ExSlim. This is
a revolutionary rival to my Canon digital camera, I must admit.
What's worse (or better for me), I was looking at the
CASIO EW-C40 EXSLIM Underwater Housing. Now you can go snorkeling with
this little powerhouse.
Cool. Very nice.
With at least 4 Megapixel resolution and under
$300, I have a strange feeling that my Canon may get left behind on my
next vacation.
Who cares anyway? I don't own shares with Canon,
and all I want is great digital photography at the best price.
